Privacy policy
What we store about you, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed. Written for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
This policy covers DEGROSS, operating from Pune, Maharashtra, India. For anything in it, including any request about your data, write to support@degross.com.
Ordering without an account
You do not need an account to shop here, and guest checkout is the default. If you order as a guest we hold only what the order itself requires: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the items and the amount. Your basket lives in a session cookie on your own browser until you check out.
What an account stores
If you choose to create an account we store your email address, your name and phone number, one saved delivery address, and a list of the orders you have placed with us. Your password is never stored. What we keep is a one-way cryptographic hash of it, which cannot be reversed back into your password — not by us, and not by anyone who obtained the file.
What an order stores
Every order — guest or account — records the name, phone number and delivery address given at checkout, the items, sizes and prices, and how it was paid for. This is held as a business and tax record independently of any account, which is why it survives an account being deleted.
Payment details
We hold no payment details of any kind. Every order is Cash on Delivery, so there is no card, UPI or netbanking information to collect — you pay the courier directly when your order arrives. If online payment is added later this policy will be updated before it goes live.
How long we keep it
Account data — your sign-in, saved address and contact details — is kept until you delete your account, and goes immediately when you do. Order records are kept for the period we are required to retain business and tax records under Indian law, after which they are deleted. If you want to know the current retention period for your own orders, ask us at support@degross.com.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from Your details inside your account — no email, no waiting. It removes your sign-in, your password hash and your saved address, and it cannot be undone. Your past orders are kept, because we are required to hold them as a business and tax record, but they stop being linked to you and no longer appear in any account. If you would rather we did it for you, write to support@degross.com.
Who else sees your data
Only those who have to in order to get your order to you: our courier, who needs your name, address and phone number. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not send marketing email.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or completed if it is wrong, to have it erased where we are not required to keep it, and to withdraw consent you have given. Write to support@degross.com and we will respond as quickly as we can. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
